The Ordering Process
First, we need the measurements of your room and the firebox. Use the Firebox Measurements Form to gather the information at your location. This information will help your sales representative estimate any special requirements. You can enter your measurements in the PDF worksheet or print a copy of the form and send a completed version to info@colmexcaststone.com. We may contact you if any additional information is needed.
- The appearance of the entire fireplace is greatly influenced by the firebox. We recommend opting for as large an opening as possible. We have a preference for prefabricated or masonry fireboxes without doors and louvers, although we can work with any firebox you have or prefer.
- When measuring the opening, it’s essential to account for any vents, louvers, or doors that need to remain exposed. Please refer to your specifications for the clearance required to remove and reinstall the glass door assemblies.
- The flush masonry or metal wood-burning firebox provides the greatest flexibility and can accommodate decorative, arched filler panels.
- When using metal boxes, it’s crucial to specify how much of the metal you want covered or exposed. Always exercise caution to allow for the space needed to remove and replace the glass doors.
- A custom filler panel allows for arches in louvered metal boxes. A template must be provided to match your doors so that we can size them correctly.
- Raised fireboxes are often preferred and can be accommodated with our raised panels and hearth options.

Products typically have a delivery time of 1 to 2 weeks after receiving approval for drawings and measurements. In some cases, production may take longer, especially if your fireplace requires modifications. Feel free to let us know if you have a specific timeframe, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
You will be notified once your order is prepared for shipment. We will send you pictures of your completed mantel for your review, and a final invoice will be issued at that time. A shipping confirmation with your contact and tracking information will be emailed to you.
At this stage, we will also provide installation and uncrating instructions, along with some helpful tips and frequently asked questions.
The typical transit time is approximately 3 to 5 business days. Upon arrival in your area, a freight dispatcher will call to schedule a delivery appointment. To ensure smooth coordination, please share your current phone number and email for inclusion in the Bill of Lading (BOL).

Our products are manufactured in Gran Praire, Texas, and shipped by a common carrier to anywhere in the United States. We will always request a lift gate for your convenience, and in most cases one will be available. If loading equipment will not be provided by the freight carrier, ColMex will provide sufficient notice so that the client may obtain alternate means for unloading. In rare cases, where the location is remote or in residential areas that do not allow large trucks, the customers may have to arrange a secondary delivery. If you are not ready for shipment upon the manufactured completion date, ColMex can hold your order for up to six weeks, provided that the balance is paid in full.
Thereafter, ColMex will charge $250.00 monthly for storage. ColMex will bill 100% percent of the contract amount, to be paid in fifteen (15) days of invoice.
Damages must be reported in writing within 24 hours of delivery. Please save all broken stone and all packaging material so we can make a claim with the freight company. Note, photographs of damage will be required after proper notification. ColMex Cast Stone will replace any broken stone at no charge to you, usually within 10 to 14 days.
Sales Tax is applicable for all sales.
Understanding Your Options
HEARTHS
Hearths can be used with your fireplace to achieve a certain look and are the base that your stone mantel sits on.
FILLER PANELS
When the desired cast stone fireplace mantel is larger than the firebox, filler panels are used to bridge the area between the firebox opening and the surround.
PANEL WALLS
Panel walls are modular units of cast stone, creating a custom wall veneer backdrop for your cast stone mantel. Panels can be made to fit your design needs.
